For so many years I was REACHING for what I was told I was supposed to reach for. I was good at everything I worked at, but there was no direction. I spent a lot of energy and passion striving to be the best, and I succeeded in many jobs, got promoted, made good money, and earned respect. I was never out of work, always in demand.
There were many years of working and reaching, and succeeding, but I was bouncing all over the place! I never cultivated relationships or a solid knowledge base in any one industry. I couldn’t leverage any of my experience, except for how it looked on my resume.
I finally went for career counseling, and got clear on 3 criteria that needed to be present in my next job, because I was reaching for MORE than a job! I was reaching for a vision, a lifestyle and a matching workstyle! I didn’t name it “workstyle” then, but that’s what I was doing…I was finally REACHING for something that met my needs, matched my values, conformed to the way I wanted to live each day.
I was REACHING – and the reaching for the places I wanted to be, the people I wanted to deal with, the travel and earnings I wanted to have in my life was fulfilling and worthwhile!
In mythology, Pegasus carried his rider to victory in battle with the gods – to victory!
Pegasus had to know what he was reaching for!
Just imagine being on the back of a winged horse…where you could achieve anything you reach for…where you could see your whole life, the whole world, from a different perspective!
That’s what was missing from all my previous REACHING! I was being too shortsighted, and not reaching for what was value-driven and fulfilling to ME – maybe to others, but not to ME!
Just like in business and in life…work hard…play hard…relax hard…love big…and DARE to FLY – even SOAR!!!
Because when you REACH for your star, be sure it’s the star YOU want.

You can reach for the vision that is meaningful to you, set goals that move you toward your vision, take strategic actions that achieve the goals that move you toward your vision….and then you celebrate!
It’s really very simple:
REACH – Get clear about your aim and reach for your heart’s desire!
ACHIEVE – Set the goals, take the actions, be consistent and build your support network
And with all that hard work, and achieving success…then it’s time to CELEBRATE! Luxuriate in the glow of fulfillment, achievement and contentment.
